Blanket Stitch Workshop - Thurs 8 Oct 2026

Join us to learn how to create a stunning basket, coaster or vase using beautiful hand-dyed raffia and the Blanket Stitch technique.

Your workshop facilitators are Janet and Annie, Creative Directors at The Raffia Connection. Janet taught primary school Art & Craft for many years, while Annie has over 8 years' experience sharing the art of basket coiling at fibre events and markets around Australia. 

During the workshop, you'll learn the Blanket Stitch technique while creating a small trinket basket, coaster or covering a small glass bottle. No experience is needed - the Blanket Stitch Workshop is suitable for complete beginners, as are our Random, Wrapping Stitch or Wave Basket Workshops.

Time: 7 – 9pm
Location: The Raffia Connection, 67 Margaret St, Box Hill North, Victoria.

All materials are included in the workshop fee –  including hand-dyed raffia, needle and a small bottle. Additional raffia can be purchased at the workshop (cash or credit card accepted).

NOTE: Private workshops can be booked with groups of friends or work colleagues to celebrate an occasion!  Minimum group size is 6 people. Email us through the contact form on this website for more information.

Cancellation Policy
* Payment in full is required to secure a place in this workshop.
* If you need to cancel or re-schedule a booking, you must do this at least 3 days before your class. We are sorry that we cannot refund or rebook any cancellations after this time. If you are unwell on the day, we ask that you do not attend, but you have the option to send someone in your place. If this occurs, please email us the name, address and phone number of your replacement. 
* On the day of your workshop, please arrive 5 minutes before the starting time of your class.
* If the minimum number of bookings is not received, the workshop may be cancelled. In this case, a full refund will be provided.
